Wow – how many steps are there? I’d have to be really in good shape to climb those, methinks ☺
There are not only a LOT of steps, but the steps are made for people with really small feet so they were like only 6″ to 8″ deep and just as shallow. You can’t see it in the picture, but there is a rope that goes up the steps to the top. It’s not the going up that is the hard part; it’s the coming down! Really steep and very small steps. It’s a wonder that more people do not fall. Most older people end up scootching down the steps on their butts, which makes for a slow go. I just bounded down sideways – was faster and safer I think.
